Phonics Scheme
At St Edward’s we use the phonics scheme Sounds Write in our teaching of early reading. The scheme does an amazing job of focussing on the sounds we hear and read in words. We have found that this has had an excellent impact on the spelling of our pupils and the systematic approach ensures all children have the best chance of becoming fluent, confident readers.
