Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is additional funding that is made available to all schools in the country. The amount of funding a school receives is based on the number of children who are or have been in receipt of Free School Meals at any time in the last six years.
The Government believe that Pupil Premium is the best way to address the inequalities between families with differing incomes. Such circumstances can often lead to differing educational and social outcomes. It is allocated to schools with the intention of:
- Raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and closing the gap with their peers
- Supporting children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces
The PPG (pupil premium grant) for 2023-2024 is £1,455 per eligible pupil or £2,530 per LAC (looked after children).
Our Pupil Premium lead is: Mrs Methven
Our Governor for Pupil Premium is: Mrs Eyre
Both may be contacted via the school office.

At St Edward’s, the Governors use this additional funding in a wide variety of ways and the ‘Pupil Premium strategy’ is designed to inform all stakeholders how we intend to spend our money.
